Outpatient

Before an appointment

Patients should have an appointment prior to any visit to the WWRC outpatient department (OPD). Those without an appointment will not be seen unless emergency treatment is needed.

New Patients - Patients need a physician’s referral from a Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), private physician or HMC physician to access an OPD appointment.

Follow-up Patients - After an initial appointment with the OPD physician, patients will be given their next appointment at the OPD station reception according to the doctor’s advice/request. This will be followed up with two phone calls prior to the date of the appointment as a reminder. An SMS will also be sent on the day of the appointment.

Billing and payment procedures for outpatient appointments - All non-Qatari patients will be asked for payment by credit card, debit card or a QNB e-cash card for their OPD appointment.

Arriving at OPD

Patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time and will be directed to reception. Patients more than 20 minutes late for their appointment will be rescheduled for another day so all appointment times are protected and not delayed.
